Is DIN 931-1 still current?
No, it has been replaced. DIN 931-1 has been replaced by ISO 4014 (MechAtlas review: 27 October 2026). Use the replacement for new work, and check differences before interchanging parts.
What it covers
Former German part-threaded hex bolt standard.
Before you interchange parts
- DIN 931 → ISO 4014 (2022): AF changes at M10/M12/M14/M22
- DIN 931 → ISO 4014 / EN ISO 4014 (stated by catalogue): Catalogue prints 'in compliance with ISO 4014'. Its own spec tables mix DIN and ISO across-flats for M10-M22, so check head size when interchanging.
Parts that use DIN 931-1
- Hex head bolt (partly threaded) (Germany (DIN), old)
Bolt with a hexagon head and a plain shank part, used with a nut to clamp flanges, brackets and machine parts.
DIN 931 - M12 x 80 - 8.8
Withdrawn; was a modified ISO 4014. Replaced by DIN EN ISO 4014.
